2 Kings 3:25 "And they beat down the cities , and on every good piece of land cast every man his stone, and filled it...and they stopped up all the wells of water and felled all the good trees."

There was a time when this was how wars were won. During this particular war, the kings of Israel, Judah, and Edom stopped up all the wells of the Moabites. They threw rocks on their land and chopped down all of the fertile trees. This made their land unfit for farming. In this way, they would cripple their enemies so that it might take years for them to recover.
Today, there is a different type of war going on in the lives of many believers. There is so much continually coming at us through the media, through our jobs, and in so many other ways...that unless we are firmly fixed on Jesus..unless we daily, and even moment by moment stand firm and trust in Him...we may get that sinking feeling...wondering how we will make it. Our very soul (mind, will, emotions) can tend to feel stopped up, making it more difficult to simply rest, to enjoy His presence, and to allow That presence to simply drench us in His love.
In the Spiritual realm, Jesus said that there should be rivers of living water flowing through the lives and hearts of every believer. To me, that nearly equates a well...a Spiritual well that for some seems to be stopped up by the cares of this life. If there doesn't seem to be any real life flowing in and through you, that's a good indicator that you have become weighed down, and that your well may be stopped up.
So...how do you "unstop" a well? Back years ago, the best way was to flush the well with tons of water. I believe it works the same way in the spiritual realm. Jesus told the woman at the well in John 4;14 "But whosoever drinketh of the water I shall give him shall never thirst...but the water that I shall give him shall be IN HIM a well of water springing up into everlasting life." Wow! What an incredible statement!
We can daily drink of the living water that IS Christ! He wants to be able to flow through us, to not only feed us, and to keep our well unstopped, but also to pour out into the live of others. He wants to permeate every area of our lives...and with the overflow, to saturate those around us.
Today, I encourage you to drink deeply from the well that is Jesus. This, my friend, is truly in us "the well of water springing up into everlasting life" that Jesus spoke about!
