Joshua 2:24 "And they said unto Joshua, 'truly The Lord hath delivered it into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us.'"
This is another verse that really speaks to me. The two men whom Joshua had sent to scope out the land of Jericho, came back with this report. They had spoken to Rahab, who was a harlot...but a woman who had a heart for God. She was willing to risk everything she had for a God she barely knew. We can never gauge a person's love for God based on what their background might be, or their lifestyle...or even their appearance. She spoke of the concern and downright fear that her people were experiencing because of the stories they were hearing about the children of Israel. They had heard of God's extraordinary power in defeating the armies across the Jordan River. Her people knew that God had given Israel the land. Rahab expressed that all the inhabitants of the land "faint because of you."
I am thinking today about who...and/or what...may be attempting to inhabit YOUR land. Who or what is it that seems to want to occupy what you know God has given to you? Rahab spoke to the men, that she knew that God had given them the land. I believe that God has done the same thing for each one of us. He has given us the body that we live in...our land! He has given us the soul that we possess...the mind that produces our thoughts and emotions...the desires that we long to see come to fruition...our gifts and talents...our ministries...in other words...our land! This land has been given to us...by an amazing God! And I believe that the "inhabitants" of OUR land have to bow to us. That discouragement that you may be dealing with FAINTS...because of YOU! That tiredness has to go..it is an intruder in YOUR land. Any type of despondency or despair cannot stay. This is YOUR land! Reasoning and unbelief must vacate!
When we all begin to have an understanding of what has been given to us by The Lord, and that He meant for every one of these gifts to be specifically ours, we can more easily begin to stand firmly against the things that try to invade what is ours. The land is yours! God delivered it into YOUR hands! Any other "inhabitants" faint because of YOU!
