John 6:12 "when they were filled, He said unto His disciples, 'Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost."
We all remember this story. A great multitude had followed Jesus...more than 5000 people. They were hungry, and the disciples asked Jesus how they would feed so many. One little boy had brought his lunch that day. He had five loaves and two small fish. Jesus had everyone sit down, and after giving thanks to God, He distributed what He had to the disciples, and
God multiplied it. All who were there were fed. No one went hungry that day! There was even food left over. Jesus told them to gather up the fragments, THAT NOTHING BE LOST.
I am continually amazed at The Lord. I don't believe that ANYTHING is ever lost with Him. I don't think that anything is ever wasted. I don't believe that anything is without purpose....not in the things we don't understand...not in our successes...not even in failure. Our God is a good God. I don't believe that He sends trouble or pain to us in any way...but we live in a fallen world...and when trials do come...God can strengthen us through them. He tells us to cast our burdens upon Him...and He promises to sustain us. He takes us to new levels of trusting in Him...THAT NOTHING BE LOST. He gathers the fragments...and then He multiplies our confidence. We walk in hope, in peace, and even boldness. Those around us watch as we confidently maneuver through even the most difficult situation...and they want to know this God who carries us, who binds up the broken hearted, who brings liberty to the captives.
Nothing with God is ever wasted. Allow Him today to gather from your life the fragments...the things that may seem of no value to you...and then watch...as He transforms even the ashes...into something amazing and beautiful...that NOTHING BE LOST.
