1Samuel 7:12 "Thus far, has The Lord helped us." If you think about the words...thus far...they are like a hand that points backwards...looking in the direction of the past. No matter what Samuel had come through...and no matter what you've been through...thus far...the Lord has helped you. Whether you experienced health or sickness, poverty or wealth, joy or pain, triumph or difficulty, your God has been with you..and He has been your help thus far. It seems to be easier looking back than forward. We can see the hand of God in every situation. We can see when He moved in someone's heart, or in our own heart. We can see when He opened a door. We can see His provision. We can see when He carried us. We can see His protection. We can see when He calmed the sea that was raging around us.
But those words...thus far...they also point forward. When you've come to a certain point in the road, you realize that the road hasn't yet ended. You can see the journey that is still in front of you...you know that you have some distance yet to travel. There are more twists and turns, more joys, more pain, more triumph, more difficulty. There are more victories, more battles, more prayer, more answers, more strength that is yet to come, more trust that will certainly be developed.
No matter where you are on the road, "thus far" your God has been with you...and He will continue to be with you in the days to come. Just as you can look back, and see the handiwork of God in your life, you can also look forward with confidence, knowing that. He will be with you throughout your journey. He can see this road. He knows every turn. He knows the wide spots and the narrow. He knows when the road will be rougher, and also when it will be smooth.
He has been your guide..."thus far" beloved. He will be the One to take you every step on the rest of your journey.
