Luke 15:31 "and he said to him, 'son, you have always been with me, and all that is Mine...is yours.'"
We know and believe that God is good...and that He is our Protector and Provider. Simply put, we trust Him. The parable of the prodigal son was shared by Jesus...and it shows not only how amazingly good our Heavenly Father is, but how much He loves His children.
The wayward son in the story left home and squandered away his fathers inheritance. He decided to go home, and to ask his father to make him a hired servant. Before he could reach home, his father saw him from far off, and he ran toward his son and embraced him. Instead of making him a hired servant, he told his servants to bring the best robe, ring and sandals for his son. He then instructed them to kill the fatted calf for a celebration.
When the older son returned home, he heard about the celebration and became upset...even refusing to enter the house. When his father asked what was wrong, he complained that he had served his father all these years and had never received a celebration such as this.
Notice what the father told him..."Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine...is yours." The older brother had a perception of his father probably that he was a hard man...or a stingy man..or possibly even that he had a favorite son..and his brother was it He believed he had to work to get something good from his father. He didn't realize that he already had an inheritance! He could have killed the fatted calf at any time for a celebration.
Like the father in the parable, God has given us an inheritance in Christ. He left it for us to enjoy now! That inheritance includes forgiveness of sin, freedom from guilt, divine health and healing, prosperity in all things, including our soul, victory and freedom from bondage, power and anointing in the Holy Spirit, love, joy, peace, righteousness, and an abundance of grace for every good work, favor, as well as the fact that we are more than conquerors, and we are seated now in heavenly places.
Most of us imagine the glory and goodness of God as being far off..unattainable in this life...but Ephesians 1:18 reveals that the riches of The glory of Gods inheritance is IN the saints! Don't fail to enjoy it by by doubting Gods goodness or believing that you must be good enough to receive it. See your Father's heart of love and goodness to you, and celebrate your inheritance today.
