Song of Solomon 2:16 "my beloved is mine, and I am His". The book of the Song of Solomon is felt to be a depiction of the love between the Messiah, and His bride. In it, the King is set before us as a type of The Lord Jesus. The Shulammite maiden is a type of the true believer...one who longs for a deep relationship with their Savior.
The cry of the bride herself represents an inward spiritual longing for God. The pursuit for love's fullness burns in the spirit of the believer..thereby causing a full attaining in the kind of intimate fellowship with the Lord that he desires.
When there is a hunger, and a thirst in the heart for the things of God, you will begin to experience the love of Jesus...a love that is more excellent than anything this world can offer. The things that men often value most offer no comparison to HIS love. It is the revelation of Jesus, given by the Holy Spirit, of His own magnificent glory that draws us to Him...and believers who are being drawn to The Lord inspire others to press in also..to know Him in a deeper, more intimate way.
May God, by His sweet Spirit, stir us up..that we might become dissatisfied with anything other than an intensely deep affection for The Lord of glory.
